Iota Nu Delta History

Iota Nu Delta was founded on February 7th, 1994, by a group of eight dedicated men of South Asian descent, on the campus of Binghamton University, in Binghamton, New York. By forming the first South Asian Brotherhood, their vision was to bridge the gaps between people of different backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures by having them interact with their respective communities, and encourage cultural awareness through affiliation with a fraternal organization. Their efforts to date, has paved the way for an upcoming of one of the largest organizations of its kind.

Within two years of existence, Iota Nu Delta became the first fraternity of its kind to be established as a New York Non-Profit organization, thus changing our name to Iota Nu Delta Fraternity Inc., and the name Iota Nu Delta Fraternity trademarked. The vision that these eight men started with, would soon be spread throughout five established chapters within the Northeast United States, and also carried to a first graduate chapter established for the brothers overseas, in Debrecen, Hungary.

Within a short time of existence, we established a central governing faction to supervise individual chapters, coordinate expansion, organize national philanthropy events, and aid in financial support to individual chapters. In addition to these tasks, our central governing body was also responsible in keeping alumni informed about new events that occur at each chapter, as well as organize our Annual Brotherhood Conference, held on a designated date, every summer.

Our story remains yet to be told.
